Introduction

The Department of Dermatology at AIIMS Bilaspur, established in 2021, provides comprehensive dermatological care encompassing clinical services, academics, and research. The department caters to a wide spectrum of skin, hair, nail, and mucosal disorders with a focus on evidence-based management, patient safety, and innovation. The faculty and staff are actively engaged in patient care, teaching, and clinical research, ensuring holistic dermatologic services in a tertiary care setting.

Services

In-Patients Department:
The department provides inpatient dermatology services for patients requiring hospital admission for the management of conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, erythroderma, drug reactions, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, cutaneous malignancies and other severe dermatoses, including patients requiring biologic therapies and close clinical monitoring.

Outpatient Department:
The department provides daily OPD services for dermatologic diseases.

Procedures (Diagnostic and/or Therapeutic) Offered by the Department:

  • Dermatologic procedures – Radiofrequency ablation, electrofulguration for warts, comedone extraction, molluscum contagiosum treatment, intralesional therapies.
  • Dermatosurgical interventions – Vitiligo surgeries, PRP, PRF dressings, GFC, intralesional therapies, cyst and mole excision, hidradenitis suppurativa surgeries, immunotherapy for various indications.
  • Phototherapy for multiple indications.
  • Patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis.
  • Aesthetic dermatology – Chemical peeling, microneedling, and botulinum toxin for hyperhidrosis.
  • Diagnostic support – Side laboratory services including KOH mount, Gram stain, Giemsa stain, and wet mount preparations.
