Vision Statement

The Department of Pharmacology at AIIMS Bilaspur envisions becoming a centre of academic excellence and innovation in medical education, therapeutics, and drug research.

Mission Statement

  • To impart high-quality education in pharmacology through integrated, student-centric, and evidence-based teaching methodologies.
  • To promote critical thinking, self-directed learning, and professional competence among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • To conduct innovative research across basic, clinical, and translational domains, focusing on drug safety and health issues of national importance.
  • To collaborate with clinical and non-clinical disciplines for a comprehensive approach to pharmacology education and practice.

Expansion Plan

The Department envisages the following future developments in academics, clinical services, and research activities.

Academics and Teaching

  • Implementation of Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) modules across MD and DM courses.
  • Strengthening of skill development laboratories for MD and DM students.

Clinical Services

  • Upgradation of the Analytical Laboratory for providing Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) services.
  • Establishment of a Pharmaceutical Quality Control Laboratory.
  • Establishment of a Drug Information Centre.
  • Strengthening of the Institute’s Antibiotic Stewardship Program.

Research

  • Expansion of the current Laboratory Animal Facility into a state-of-the-art centre.
  • Establishment of a Clinical Research / Trial Unit.
