AIIMS Bilaspur

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, is a premier medical institution established to address regional disparities in affordable and reliable tertiary healthcare services. It also aims to enhance the quality of medical education across the country. The foundation stone was laid by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on October 3, 2017. Subsequently, on January 21, 2019, the Hon'ble Union Health Minister, Shri J P Nadda, and the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Jai Ram Thakur, performed the Bhoomi Pujan

The institute is being developed in three phases over an area of 247 acres. Phase I, completed in a record time of three years, includes a 750-bed hospital with 41 specialty and super-specialty departments. Advanced tertiary care facilities such as 64 ICU beds, 20 modular operation theatres, CT, MRI, digital radiography, a Cath lab, and dialysis services are available

AIIMS Bilaspur commenced its first academic session on January 12, 2021, with an inaugural batch of 50 MBBS students. The institute offers 100 MBBS seats through the NEET exam, 40 B.Sc. Nursing (Hons.) seats through centralized counseling via AIIMS New Delhi's Nursing Entrance Test, and 20 paramedical seats through centralized counseling via AIIMS New Delhi. The institute is empaneled under health insurance schemes like PMJAY and HIMCARE. It has established an AMRIT Pharmacy and a Jan Aushadhi Kendra to provide quality medications and consumables at affordable prices.
